This page contains information about the CITES Workstation Services Group.
The CITES Workstation Services Group (WSG) provides contract system administration, hourly UNIX technical support, and software distribution for owners of UNIX systems on the UIUC campus. We also offer Linux training and a repository of technical documents and freeware for those who prefer to manage their own systems.

Contract Services
CITES has defined two types of workstation support contracts,
as well as installation and hourly services, in response
to requests from workstation owners who wish to have someone
perform system installation and maintenance tasks for them.
Vendor Software
Operating system software for DEC, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Silicon Graphics, and Sun workstations is available to UIUC workstation owners. In addition, a variety of site licenses for third-party software are available.
Linux Academy
Linux Academy is comprised of two non-credit courses. The basic course will cover the basic aspects of Linux. The advanced course covers Red Hat Linux system administration. These courses are available to anyone interested in learning (or learning more) about Linux.
