Windows Vista and WPA2 Wireless
This page contains information about using the UIwpa2 wireless network with a Windows Vista system.

Requirements
In order to connect to the UIwpa2 wireless network with a Windows Vista computer, your system must:
- Have a WPA2-compatible wireless card
If your system doesn't meet the requirements for WPA2, you can continue to use UIUCnet Wireless instead.
Getting connected
1. In the Start menu, click Connect To.
2. Select UIwpa2 from the list of networks that appears.
3. Choose the "Enter/select additional log on information" option.

4. Enter the following information:
- User name: Your NetID
(or, for guests, your guest ID) - Password: Your Active Directory password
(or, for guests, your guest password) - Logon domain: (Leave this line blank)
(Not sure what your Active Directory password is? Try your Express Email or NetFiles password, or reset your AD password at the CITES Password Manager.)
5. You'll be prompted for more information. Choose the "Enter/select additional log on information" option again.

6. OK the Thawte Premium CA server certificate.

7. You should see a "successful connection" message.
- If this is your laptop and you always use it on campus, you can leave all the option boxes checked.
- If this is a shared or lab laptop, or if you often use it off campus, uncheck the boxes.

8. If asked for a network location, select "public location" (with the park bench icon).

Now you're connected to the UIwpa2 wireless service.
Trouble connecting?
If your computer's autoconfiguration settings don't work, try the detailed configuration settings for Windows Vista instead.
Disconnecting when finished
When you're finished using the UIwpa2 wireless network:
1. Click the Connect To option in your Start Menu.
2. Select a different network from the list of available networks.
