Wireless Service Implementation Options

CITES provides a wide range of options to departments who wish to provide wireless access to users in their buildings. Many of them rely on the Network Design Office (NDO) for design and installation services; however, CITES will also work with departments who wish to design and install their own secure wireless networks, under the terms described below.

Currently, there is no charge for the time of the CITES wireless staff to design and implement UIUCnet Wireless for your unit. There is a recurring monthly charge of $10.00 per access point to cover ongoing UIUCnet Wireless network maintenance. This free design service and monthly charge will be reviewed on a semi-annual basis and are subject to change over time.

Note:

For designs that are completely carried through from initial design to final implementation, CITES will donate the NDO's design time for free.

However, if you decide not to complete an installation whose design process has been started, after the Service Level Agreement (SLA) has been signed, then you will be charged a one-time fee of either $500.00 or the cost for the time spent on the design up through the point of your cancellation, whichever is greater.
