Requesting Walkup Computing in Your Building

This page contains information for IT Pros about how to request a Walkup Computing installation in your building.

If you are the network administrator for a building, contact the CITES Network Design Office (ndo@uiuc.edu), or talk to your NDO designer. They will help determine whether your building infrastructure will support Walkup Computing. In some cases, all it takes is a simple configuration to a building switch. In other cases, it may involve significant remodeling costs.

In general, if you have a VLAN switch to the building and have ports already wired in the areas you would like Walkup, the easier and and cheaper it will be.
