Can I go directly to lynda.com to view the tutorials?
No. You must connect through the appropriate Illinois login page:

After you are authenticated as a Illinois-system individual, you will have access to all of lynda.com's tutorials.
Is there a short URL to remember for the Illinois lynda.com training materials?
Yes. These are your Illinois lynda.com login URLs:

Who can access the lynda.com training materials?
Anyone with an active Illinois NetID can access the lynda.com training materials.
Do I need to recreate an account at lynda.com?
No. All you need to access the courses is your Illinois NetID.
Which password do I use to log in?
That depends on which campus maintains your NetID account:
For Urbana/Champaign campus users, use your Active Directory password.
For Chicago campus users, use your ACCC password.
For Springfield campus users, use your netid password.

How do I know if I am logged in?
On the landing page, in the upper right hand corner, it will state "Currently logged in, Welcome to the UIUC/UIC/UIS site license on lynda.com". More importantly, you will be able to access all video tutorials on the lynda.com site.
Can I access lynda.com through a wireless network connection?
Yes, you can connect through IllinoisNet or UIC Wifi or UIS Wifi or any off-campus wireless connection that's available.
Can I watch lynda.com videos on a mobile device?
Yes, but you must use your device's mobile browser (Safari, the Android browser, etc.) and login through your University's login page to do so. Your University credentials won't work through lynda.com's downloadable iOS app.
How many people can be logged in to lynda.com at the same time?
All campuses in the Illinois system have an unlimited site license. This means there is no restriction on the number of simultaneous users.
Can I access the tutorials from off campus?
Yes. You can access the tutorials in the same way as on campus.
I'm having trouble logging in. What might be wrong?
If you are having trouble logging in, first make sure you are using your Illinois NetID (in lower-case) as your login (not your full email address). Also make sure you are using your Active Directory password (UIUC), your ACCC password (UIC), or your netid password (UIS). If you still can't log in, contact your campus' IT help desk.
Do we have access to the full library or just the "free sample training"?
Everyone in the Illinois system has access to the full library of the lynda.com tutorials once you login with your Illinois NetID.
Based on the license agreement with Illinois, the lynda.com system does not track individual usage. If you choose to use this free service, it becomes your responsibility to track your own progress.
I do not have QuickTime installed on my computer. How can I view these tutorials?
QuickTime is required in order to view the tutorials. It is a free download, but if you are on campus you may need to speak with your IT department before you install the plug-in on your work machine. Download the free QuickTime player.
What are the minimum machine requirements for using lynda.com?
NOTE: Do not log in on the lynda.com site.
