This page contains information about Firefly, a Social Security Number detection tool made available as part of the university's Social Security Number elimination program.
Firefly (for Windows) and Firefly4Mac (for Apple OS) are tools that can help you scan your computer for Social Security Numbers. Instructions on downloading and installing Firefly and Firefly4Mac are available below.
Installation Directions by Operating System
For Windows: Firefly
- We strongly recommend using Internet Explorer to download and install Firefly because you can skip several steps. To get started, view the Firefly Directions for Internet Explorer.
- If you do not want to use Internet Explorer, view the Firefly Directions for Web Browsers Other than Internet Explorer.
For Apple: Firefly4Mac
