CITES offers software procurement services through Software Services that provide campus units with cost-effective, conveniently distributed software. Through volume purchases and site-license agreements, Software Services saves the University community more than $12 million annually.

In addition to passing on the benefits of centrally negotiated agreements, removing duplication of efforts among units, and eliminating risk associated with purchases, Software Specialists will work with your unit to:

  • Access Existing Software Licenses
Administer University of Illinois WebStore, a secure Web site that offers over 150 software titles for purchase or download to faculty, staff, and students on all three U of I campuses — in Urbana-Champaign, Chicago, and Springfield.
  • Negotiate Contracts
Provide you with a detailed list of questions to ask software vendors when negotiating contracts and/or directly facilitates negotiations with vendors to obtain best value and ensure specifications are comprehensive and accurate.
  • Manage Contracts
Identify and band together groups using specific software packages to create consortiums that increase buying power, lower overall cost, and increase number of available licenses.
  • Distribute Software
Create targeted offers with eligibility requirements for specific campuses, colleges, departments, units, individual users, Active Directory groups, or custom groups making specialized software only available to those populations. Assist with MSDNAA distribution and Microsoft Departmental Campus Agreement Distribution.
  • Provide Support
All products distributed through U of I WebStore are supported up to installation on the end-user machine.

Contact us to partner with a Software Specialist, or visit WebStore to check out the latest software title offerings.
