Using Guest Tickets
This page describes how to use guest tickets in NetFiles to share documents with non-NetFiles users.
Collaborating with non-NetFiles users
CITES NetFiles accounts are available only to current University faculty, staff, and students, but you can grant temporary file access (called guest ticketing) to people who do not have a NetFiles account. Guest tickets can be created for both individual files and entire directories. You can even allow your guests to publish files to your NetFiles account.
By creating guest tickets for files rather than placing them in your public (shared or www) directories, you have much more control over who accesses your files.

To create a ticket
- Upload the file you wish to send, and click the file name to select it. (For instructions, see Using CITES NetFiles on the Web.)

- A new window will appear with default ticket values. You may modify the following:

- Lifetime: how long the ticket will remain valid
- Name: a reminder of the ticket's use
- Password: requires the ticket holder to enter a password to access the file
- NetFiles creates a URL for your file, which you can paste into an email message to allow others to view the file. You can also use the email button to create a new message containing the link to your file.
- Click the Exit button to return to your directory listing.
