About Illinois Compass 2g

The second generation of Illinois Compass made its debut on the Illinois campus in November 2011. CITES will offer both the original Illinois Compass software (powered by Blackboard Vista) and Illinois Compass 2g (powered by Blackboard Learn 9.1) for Spring, Summer, and Fall 2012 semesters.

Requesting a Course Space

We have expanded your choices when requesting an Illinois Compass 2g space. In addition to Registrar-affiliated spaces, you can now request Development, Training, and Non-Registrar-affiliated spaces providing new ways to use Illinois Compass 2g.

Managing Course Access

Illinois Compass 2g space owners assume the responsibility of adding teaching assistants and other guests into their course spaces.

Registrar-affiliated courses will automatically load student rosters daily throughout the term; students who are unenrolled are not automatically removed from the roster, but the course is made unavailable for these students.
