What is my NetID and NetID password?

Your NetID is a unique name that you use to identify yourself when you access a variety of important computer applications on campus. With your NetID and NetID password, you are able to log in to UIUCnet Wireless and Walkup Computing, download software at the Software , and change other important passwords with the CITES Password Manager.

Your NetID is also the beginning of your email address before the "@" sign. If you are not sure what your NetID is, you can look up your entry in the Electronic Directory, where it will be listed as your alias. How do I change my NetID password?

There are three ways to reset your NetID password: online, by fax, and in person.

Where are the Password Change Forms located so I can change my NetID password by fax?

The Password Change Form is available as a PDF file and as an HTML page. Please click on the file type of your choice. Note: The PDF file requires Adobe Acrobat.

What are my EnterpriseID and EnterpriseID password?

Your EnterpriseID and EnterpriseID password are similar in purpose to your NetID and NetID password. They’re just used to access different things. For instance, your EnterpriseID and EnterpriseID password allow you to register for classes, access your records and grades, and apply for financial aid. For most people, the EnterpriseID is the same as the NetID. However, the passwords should be different.

How do I change my EnterpriseID password?

You can reset your EnterpriseID at the Change your EnterpriseID Password page. You will need your NetID and NetID password to log in to the page.

Where can I change my CITES Express Email password?

Your CITES Express Email password can be reset with the CITES Password Manager. Click on the CITES Passwords button on the right side of the page.

Where is the CITES Express Email web interface?

The CITES Express Email web interface is located at https://express.cites.uiuc.edu.

I think I might have a computer virus? How do I fix it?

You can use the Antivirus CD to disinfect your computer and protect it from future virus infections. To get the CD you can either:

How much UIUC Dialup connection time is available at no charge?

Twenty hours of dialup time per week is allotted to campus faculty, staff, students, and retirees. Those who live in residence halls or are extramural students receive 5 hours per week. For more information, please see Dialup Access to UIUCnet.

How can I find out how much connection time I have remaining?

You can view your connection time usage at https://www-s7.cites.uiuc.edu/termserv/myhours.cgi. Log in with your NetID and NetID Password.

Software

My internet connection speed is too slow to download large installation files from Webstore. What other options are available?

Many Webstore software products are available as media that you can pick up or have mailed to you. See the notes for the specific software in which you are interested. You may also burn software offered at no charge to a personal CD. All CITES Instructional Computing Services labs have computers equipped with CD-RW drives.
