Express-SMTP
Express-SMTP is a campus SMTP server that allows a computer or device on the campus network to send mail without authenticating.
Since you don't need to authenticate to use Express-SMTP, you can use this service without a NetID and password.
This works as long as your computer or device is either on the campus network or connected into campus via the CITES VPN service.
Express-SMTP won't be retired with Express
Although the CITES Express Email service is being retired in late 2011, there are currently no plans to retire the Express-SMTP service.
