Fall 2007 Teaching with Technology Brown Bag Series

Save these date for the CITES Educational Technologies Fall 2007 Brown Bag Series. All presentations are held from 12:00 P.M. ~ 1:00 P.M. in 23 Illini Hall, are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.

Upcoming presentations include:

  • On September 19, CITES Chief Information Officer Sally Jackson will discuss the purpose behing disciplinary teaching agendas as well as explore contributions of information and communication technologies to teaching “breakthroughs” and alternative arrangements for supporting these breakthroughs.
  • On October 10, Iris Stovall, Director of Instructor Services, and Michael Lindeman, Director of Program & Course Development, will describe the relationship between U of I departments and the Global Campus.
  • On October 31, Eric Snodgrass, Instructor in the Atmospehric Sciences department, will discuss MISR (Multiangle Imaging SpectroRadiometer) and how it is being used in the classroom to predict weather patterns.
  • On November 7, Associate Professor of Economics Hadi Esfahani will discuss the use of animation in teaching, especially in subjects that use graphs.
  • On December 5, Chief Information Officer and Associate Dean in the College of Business Lanny Arvan will discuss how faculty can make learning explicit and what that means about teaching.
