Instructors can create assessment questions in the question database independent of a particular assessment. This is useful for instructors who want to create assessments with randomly selected questions, or if there will be several assessments that will cover the same material. Questions are grouped under categories and can be accessed by any assessments used in the course site.
To access the Assessments tool, select the Build tab, and under Course Tools select Assessments.
From the Assessments main screen, select Go to Question Database.
From the Question Database main screen, click on Create Category.
Enter a Title for the category and select Save. This will create a questions category in the Question Database.
From the Question Database main screen, check the questions you wish to add to the new category. Then select the category name from the dropdown box and click on the green arrow to move the questions over to the new category.
You should see the questions moved to the appropriate category.
