CITES Help Desk

You can reach the CITES Help Desk via walk-in, email, telephone, or voicemail. See the Help Desk web page for details. Telephone assistance is available by calling 217-244-7000 or 800-531-2531 during regular business hours (8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday), and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, when classes are in session.

Classroom Technologies

CITES Classroom Technologies (CITES ClassTech), formerly the Division of Engineering Services of the Office of Instructional Resources, may be reached by phone from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and via email. To report a problem with Integrated Teaching System equipment, call 217-333-8165. If you do not require immediate assistance, you may email classtech@uiuc.edu. Requests for training, codes, and software installation can be done at http://www.cites.illinois.edu/classtech, the ClassTech web site.

Educational Technologies For CITES Educational Technologies (CITES EdTech), see its About Us: Contact Information page. Telephone assistance is available by calling 217-244-7000 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. You can also email edtech@uiuc.edu for assistance.
Telecommunications The Campus Information Operators are available by calling 217-333-1000 between 7:30 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding University holidays.

IT Support Program For comprehensive technical support (including team-backed in-house computer consultants, secure data storage, technology assessments, and strategy recommendations), University units can arrange annual or semi-annual contracts by contacting CITES Departmental Services at 217-333-2387 . OnSite Consulting You can schedule appointments for a consultation at any location in the Urbana-Champaign area -- including your campus office, home, or dorm room -- by calling 217-333-8628 during regular business hours, or emailing onsite@illinois.edu. Typically, consultations take place between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., but other arrangements are possible. Standard service is $40 per hour and emergency service is $80 per hour, with a minimum charge for one hour. Fees can be charged to a University account or paid with a personal check.
Systems Management Group (SMG) Contracts Ongoing cost-recovery Unix system administration support for individuals or groups. Multiple support options are available.
Systems Management Group (Systems) Hourly Support Customized Hourly Services can be requested by contacting the CITES Workstation Services Group (cites-wsg@uiuc.edu). Availability of customized services will depend on current staff availability, with commitments to ongoing contracts taking precedence. Hourly service rates are set at $125.00 per hour, with a minimum of one hour. The minimum charge for onsite assistance is $175. This service is only for Unix-based systems.
Unix Systems Hardware Group The Maintenance Center, formerly known as the Unix Systems Hardware Group, provides high quality replacement parts and services with low and competitive prices. Multiple support options are available.
