What to Do When You Think You Have a Virus
This page contains steps for handling a virus on your computer.
- Step 1: Obtain the free CITES Antivirus CD and follow the instructions on it for disinfecting and patching your computer.
You can get the free CD- by going to the CITES Help Desk or
- by downloading the disk image and burning a CD yourself.
- Step 2: If the Antivirus CD did not solve your problem, you will probably need to seek outside help:
- CITES OnSite Consulting will come to your office or home for a fee and help you with your computer,
OR - You could go to a third-party computer service center.

- Step 3: If the computer is under warranty, you may also want to check with the manufacturer to find out whether your warranty would cover repairs.
