Vendor Relations

Introduction

By being a central contact for campus networking design, the Network Design Office (NDO) is able to maintain relationships with many vendors of networking equipment and can combine same vendor orders to get volume discounts.

The NDO maintains a vendor database that will provide information on vendor products and vendor contacts; the paper file of vendor information is available for use by the campus community.

The NDO also works with Central Stores and EE Stores to provide a list of often-requested networking equipment. By stocking standard items at competitive prices, Central Stores and EE Stores can eliminate the hassle and runaround campus units experience when trying to order equipment from many different vendors.
