The Cautious Approach:
Keeping Spam in Quarantine
This page describes a scenario in which you may want to use the Cautious setting for CITES Spam Control.
You would like to reduce the amount of spam you receive, but you don't want spam automatically deleted for you.
Solution:
Choose the "Cautious" option as your Personal Spam Policy.
In this option, certain and likely spam will be sent to Quarantine. No messages are deleted except those with a virus attached.
Messages sent to Quarantine will not be deleted for 10 days, so you'll have plenty of time to check your digest and release to your inbox any legitimate messages that were quarantined. The important thing to remember is to check your digest at least more frequently than every 10 days--preferably whenever you receive one--so nothing you want to keep is left in Quarantine long enough to be deleted.
Keep in mind that for this option to be effective, you'll need to receive digests. See the Changing Daily Digest Preferences tutorial for more information.
