Getting Started with CITES Spam Control

This page describes how to sign up for CITES Spam Control.

New faculty, staff, and students are automatically signed up for CITES Spam Control. Faculty and staff are placed in the Cautious Personal Spam Policy; students are put in the Cautious Plus Personal Spam Policy. (For information about personal spam policies, see Overview of CITES Spam Control.)

If you do not believe you are signed up for Spam Control, then do the following steps to activate your account:

  1. Go to the CITES Spam Control Tool Page.
  2. Click the Sign Up link and log in with your NetID and NetID password.
  3. Read the activation information and then click the Sign me up! button. This will put you in the Cautious Personal Spam Policy (for more information about these policies, see Overview of CITES Spam Control). Note: If you are already signed up for Spam Control, you will instead see a page that allows you to request a new daily digest or full digest. Click on either button to receive a new digest, which will allow you to go into your account and view which personal spam policy you are using.
  4. After a few minutes, check your email. You should find a digest that contains the link to the Spam Control web interface, where you can change your settings. To learn more, see the CITES Spam Control Tutorials.
